You know the commercials that one might see about cash for your old or scrap gold and silver? Most of your local pawn shops will provide the same service. I know I've seen advertisements from our local pawn shops about that very same thing. I always thought it was an exaggeration in the very least. Well, I decided to take a broken 14K gold wedding band [husband's ex wife's – we'd already taken the diamonds out for another ring] and an ex boyfriend's [from 13yrs ago] 10K class ring to a pawn shop in our area. I was stunned when the guy said, "Two and a quarter." So I got $225.00 for 2 rings that have been collecting dust in my jewelry box. The husband and I decided to go through the rest of the jewelry that we never wear. With the daily price of gold and silver, I'm guessing we'll probably have another $150-$200 more. That's enough to get the laptop I want, a birthday gift for our son, and the 1st tank of gas for our camping trip! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Then… My ex husband gave me $100.00 cash for 1 day of our daughter's day camp [$40], 2 scripts filled for her [$20], and for looking for his old i-Phone that he let her use as an i-Pod [disconnected phone]. I really wasn't worried about the $60. But I'm certainly not stupid enough to not take it.
Next… I found my husband a really good deal on a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda w/the Commando 273 cid. It's not the Formula S, but still a great find! I'm so excited for him!!!
Finally… I won $15.00 on a scratch-off lotto ticket.
The little things brighten my day.
