This is an article just for the fun of it. Nicknames.... Do you have one? Your kids? Significant other? Parents? Grandparents? What are they? If you want to put an explanation, I'd love to read about it!

My nicknames as an adult have been Velma (from Scooby Doo), Boo (from Monsters Inc), Pebbles (from The Flintstones), Meg (from Family Guy), Shortie, Midget, and Lil A.
As a kid they were, Aubee, Arby, Darby, and Weenbob.

My kids - Son (2.5) is Booger, Boog, Ham n Turkey w/Cheese, Peanut butt, and (as an infant - before hubby & I got married) fat bastard. Daughter (7.5) is Snots, Sassy Pants, Princess, Drama Princess, Peapod, Skinny butt, and Sugar butt.

My husband and I will call to the kids together sometimes yelling out, "Come on Booger n Snots!" lol!

My daughter came up with nicknames for all of the grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc... (kind of accidentally - as a baby with newly developing language skills). We have Momo (grandma), Bama (grandma), Umpa (grandpa), Papa (grandpa), Pop-pops (grandpa), Unca Minnie (uncle Jimmy), Unca Giggid (uncle Jarrod), Aunt Kiki (aunt Krysta), and Aunt Kikieen (aunt Kathleen). They all have stuck.

My husband and I don't really have nicknames for one another. I guess I sort of have one for my husband... House (because he looks like Hugh Laurie).

Added photos... Then you can say whether or not I look the part of Velma or Meg (my hair color is changed often) and say if you think my hubby looks like Hugh Laurie. : )

Somehow "Heather" became "Headsie" by my little sister when she was a baby learning to talk and everyone in my family started to call me that.

Otherwise, my family has always stuck to full names.

Hey Aubs!

Beautiful Family!!! And yes he looks like House...very handsome!!! :-)

I have a few nicknames (let me clarify, my Vine name is for my late Maine Coon cat Nikita...my real name is Jacqueline)

So with that said...

Jaxx, Jack-O-Lantern, Jack-O-Lyne, Wacky Jacky, Hacky Jacky Smokes Wacky Tobaccy (that clever one my brother made up when we were kids) lol...

My husbands parents are known to the grandkids as Doot (Papa) and Doot Doot Grammy)

I call my husband Cutie Butt...because he has a cute butt ;-)

Fun article :-)

I love Maine Coons. They are so beautiful. I miss my Coon mixes... They weren't quite as big as a pure bred, but they had all the fluff still!

I love them too. They are such sweet cats. I have my Nikita's actual paw prints tatooed on my arm. After he passed I dipped his front paws in black ink on paper and took the paper to the tatoo parlor. So his little feet will be with me forever :-(

I got the idea from a surfer I met in Maui quite a few years ago..he had these HUGE tatoos of big black paws on his back. I asked him about them and he tearfully told me they were his late Great Dane's actual paw prints. I thought it was so touching. So..I ended up doing it.

Growing up I had various nicknames, some used more often than others:

Jams, James, Jimmy, Chucky (from child's play), Animal (wore a shirt with tazmanian devil that said '100% animal' often. Super hyper and talkative fueled that catching on)

As an adult they've narrowed down and are used less often:

Crazy, old one or oldest (because it's apparently easier for my mom to remember =P), CloudBear (response bf gave to me calling him snuggle pumpkin), DJ Fufu Urinal Cakes (my sister is DJ Baby Portapotty - don't ask, it was one of those days)

Some nicknames I have for others:

Marc (bf): Marcito (mark-ito), snuggle pumpkin

Brie (sister): Blee-lee (our grandma [popo] has a heavy chinese accent and I for some reason repeat it), DJ Baby Portapotty, Cheese, Capt. Gimpy (she was in a soft boot cast for a year due to her neuroma in her foot), Imelda (shoes, 'nuff said)

No real nicknames for the parents, but have po-po, po-di-po, dog-dog (for as you can guess, our dog, Pomaikai) and Hana-banana (for our other dog, Hana)

I (foolishly) gave my niece the choice to call me whatever she wanted, thinking "auntie" or something similar would come out. 3 years later I'm still "Auntie Dora" (which isn't even CLOSE to my real name btw) because she liked Dora the Explorer. She STILL refuses to call me by my real name even though I know she knows it. sigh. Goes to show you -- kids are like computers, you need to be REALLY careful with the input otherwise you may not get the output you expect.

It's the best analogy I can come up with -- children are the ultimate in GIGO :)

Don't have one, never really did.

I just get the biggest laugh out of the silly ass who tries to garner his own "cool nick".

You have a great looking group, from top to bottom!

The 'ole mans better lookin' than Hugh Laurie, and Boog has been blessed with a buddys shortened name, Boogah. If we were down south he'd be called Booger!

You're a cute gal, too, but I must tell you, Sassy Pants is just the prettiest little lady!

Those eyes are just so happy. Cute nose, and perfect teeth. You are blessed!

My son is handsome pants or stink bug. My girls are typically cutie pie, sweet pea, and/or honeybun. My nicknames are not appropriate for publication. Let's just say I was bullied a lot growing up.

Aw... I was bullied too. But those that gave me nicknames are those that love me.

I feel your pain. My nicknames were given by the bullies. The most they could get out of there mouth were four letter words, so my two syllable name was too much.

I had two nicknames, Nipper, and worm. Nipper, because I used to bite, and Worm, because I can't stand worms. What a beautiful family!! Thanks for the pictures!!

    Thank you.

I used to chase my neighbors with worms. My mom heard screams and squeals from a neighbor across the street from my house and she found me (3yrs old) with a worm and the neighbor cornered (my friend/neighbor's daughter thought it was funny).

Garter snakes were another favorite of mine... Chased a lot of people with those too. : )
