Random spewings...

Ok. So, sometimes I feel the need to just spew randomness because I'm thinking... And sometimes my ramblings are an interesting read. (yes, that was my disclaimer)

First thing on my mind is that the people that work in the pharmacy that I get my prescriptions at are incompetent morons. 'We're waiting on a call from your Dr. for approval...' I just talked to my Dr.... They never called the office! It had the approval they're looking for, over 4 weeks ago!

Next thought has to do with my Firebird. I so want to be able to put 'her' back together. It'll take another $800ish to put the motor back together. I still don't know if I want to make my own headers or continue to look for something that might fit. The application I have doesn't accommodate for the listings I'm finding and the last set that were in that car (previous owner put them in) cooked the trans cable and harnesses and the firewall and floorboard were bashed in... OH! And the trans crossmember was notched. Um, that's a bad idea with the torque this car produces.

I get frustrated with people I work with/for sometimes. I was hired here as a Prototype Technician. I've been working as a Prototype Technician for almost 9yrs total now. However, my supervisor found out I know some about Microsoft Programming and how to create metrics... That was the beginning of my office work. Now, I not only do the metrics for our shop, but I am a process auditor and writer, and when he's away, I handle all of the daily tasks that he would do. I do all of the orders for shop needs. I set up any training needs. I approve and dictate what a new hire requires for the job they're getting hired to do (shop purposes). I contact the engineering staff to find out why the work request is past THEIR required completion date. (usually parts related) That's a whole other issue. So... When I mention that what I do does not reflect what I was hired for, they tell me that I'm right... 'You're an admin.' Um... No. I do a whole lot more than the other admins in this bldg! I KNOW I do. I do more like what a coordinator or process specialist does... That pays more.

Oh well... I went to school to be an aircraft mechanic... That pays less than what I'm making now unless it's for Corporate flight.

Now... I'm on the phone with HAP. Grrr! This is aggrivating. Apparently a pre-approval for this medication can expire?!?!?!?

I guess that's all for today.

MsAubry breath deeply lass, breath deeply, and do try and not rip the head of the next moron who sticks their's in your way: it is momentarily satisfying but the attendent paper work sucks the joy out of it.

To update everyone... No one was informed that the medication I'm on was changed from a Category 2 med to a 3... 3=Narcotic which needs all kinds of new paperwork filled out. Insurance companies are telling the Dr how to treat their patient?!?!?!? I know this Dr went to medical school for a LONG time. He's a sleep specialist, respiratory specialist w/surgical experience in respiratory medicine, and all of this education AFTER medical school! So... Who went through all of that at the insurance company??? But if I said I was addicted to Heroin... The insurance would cover rehab and they'd give me methodone... Confusing, isn't it?

Whatever... It got approved.

Ummm, I'm going to guess the supply clerk? Send me some Heroin if I got that correct (I know, I know...think of how long you will have to wait at the Pharmacy to have that called in and approved). LOL!

I doubt the supply clerk went to medical school and then extended school for specialty. : )

I know, but every Insurance Co. would have you believe that even their supply clerk is an expert in medical condtions, prescriptions, diagnosis etc. IN addition to having expertise in logging out pens and paperclips. LOL

Not to add salt to your wound (more like misery loves company, lol) but I sure am glad to hear that all pharmacies employ incompetent morons. Yeah I suppose they need a job too. I have this same problem everytime I stop to pick up the husbands prescriptions. One, they are never ready (even though they are on a once a month refill program), Two, its always at least one prescription they have to call in for approval (why? The damn prescription is for a year which the rest of us competent morons KNOW just began.) and then by the time I have waited for over an hour to procure his meds and pay for them I (the one who is on NO prescriptions other than a six pack of beer a day) suddenly feels the urge to rip the bag open and swallow a few of the high blood pressure meds prescribed for my husband, LOL.

This is why I highly recommend all pharmacies install a full service bar in their waiting area.

What is killing me right now is that i brought a banana to eat this afternoon and its not ripe enough. Why did i not notice the green on it? Guess i will just pretend its a phone as people walk by my office for my own entertainment.

@Bad Fish...or that once the banana is ripe, you have exactly 8 hours in which to consume it or it starts to get soft. I love, love, love bananas, but they are only good for such a dang short period of time!

@KYP...now that one is a crying shame, no pina colada? They are so so yummy!!!

Make a banana and peanut butter sandwich. If the banana is a little green or too ripe it is edible anyway.

If a banana is green, it doesn't go wel in anything, except maybe a banana split. If it's too ripe, it has to be mashed up and used in something like banana bread, just my opinion:)

Don_Q, I respectfully disagree, a green banana in a smoothie just makes the smoothie taste like a green banana.

BTW, what happened to the uixote part of your name?

I guess I put so much yogurt and strawberries in that it masks the taste.

I actually like green bananas to eat. The super ripe ones are best for breads.

To risk sounding like Andy Rooney, what's with this translucent plastic-like packaging material they use to bag chips, cereal, crackers and similar items. It never can be opened without it rip-exploding and spewing saltine crackers all over the kitchen. It never allows you to open it along the seam, but instead opens in the most inconvenient way possible. Assuring that retained freshness is not an option...maybe that's the reason.

Well, I need to spew a bit about my own job.

I know everyone says teachers are lazy, they have it made etc. however, on Friday, I didn't get to teach my own classroom kids because I had an inservice on writing. I learned maybe two things out of 50 that I hadn't been doing, but sitting in a room with a lecturing person is not a great idea. I come to school today (yesterday was a holiday) geared up and ready to teach .... a sub walks into my room, and yes, another training. One they didnt even tell me I was supposed to be at! This had to do with a library grant, I was to learn the 6 modules of the grant to take it back to my staff to teach it to them.

Ready for the shouting.... pretend I am shouting....

If you are going to hold me accountable to teach my students, at least let me in the classroom once in a while so I can do my damn job. Subs just babysit. My kids never learn anything with a sub. Even if I give them new material, they screw it up somehow.

It is crunch time for me. I must get my students mastering these NCLB state standards and they need to master them, lest I be held accountable for them not learning. I can't do my job if you keep sending me out to be trained on things that I will need to train my peers in later.

Awesome rant, MsAubrey! My roomie would identify with your job rant. She was the office manager where we both worked (and retired from), but she's also a fantastic techie geek, knows computers like nobody I've ever known. So, what do you s'pose they had her doing most of the time? Yeah... IT stuff. They were too damned cheap to actually hire an IT person or pay her what it was really worth for doing two separate jobs! She finally took early retirement because she'd had enough of being overworked and underpaid.

Don't even get me started on our health-care broken system...
